iPad 2 goes 3D without glasses

The guys over at EHCI Research Group have found a rather clever way to track the movement of the user’s head with the front facing camera and, along with some software magic, have managed to create an impressive real-time 3D experience on Apple’s own iPad.



The app does not use either gyroscope or accelerometer to function. It is merely using front facing camera available on iPad2. How cool is that...



Of course it also runs on iPhone4...



The idea is shown in this video;



And this technology has been around at least 3-years ago as indicated by this youtube video... It is amazing that this technology only known to me when iPad2 is released :-)
